The project is aimed at young people aged 15 – 25 years, it will be an interactive space exploration to answer the question : what for each participant is to be who you are. The workshop will be a way to support the process of finding their own identity. Identity development is a process common to all young people and have an impact on both the experience of the body , its relations with the outside world as well as to how it interprets these experiences . The project aims to show how the identity of young people is determined by relationships with family, friends , colleagues , and emotional responses to life experiences. The project is an inspiration to research , to work on concepts related to identity, nationality , Polish identity , stereotypes, and passions. One of the key objectives of the project is to encourage the participants’ attitudes and self- affirmation of their cultural identity ( embedding a culture of awareness of cultural heritage ) .
The project will consist of two parts: work on short films and workshops – classes will be conducted based on the developed film material .
Videos are to include scenes , speeches and interviews with project participants on the identity and some of its aspects: the labeling of others, stereotypes and prejudices , Polish identity , affiliation or interests . Here are the topics that will be addressed in the short films :
– The importance of friendship in the formation of identity
– Attitude to Poles , Polish culture and the concept of local communities
– Hobbies , interests, likes and dislikes, abilities , dreams , goals
– Attitude towards school , family and community
– Individuality – what separates the individual from other
– Perception of himself, I and cultural diversity
The project involves the production of five short films .
There will be five workshops where participants will reflect on ways of defining their identity , the causes and consequences of labeling people , the role of stereotypes in human relationships , the meaning of national identity and sense of belonging , and finally the role of passions and interests in shaping identity. The workshops will use the following methods: brainstorming, discussions , group work and pair work , solving quiz together to create a mind map , create works of art ( self-portraits in the selected technique : drawing, collage , etc. ) . Work during the workshop will proceed in an atmosphere of trust, respect , security, openness, acceptance .
