The Foundation organized an interesting conference on the challenges facing the African Diaspora and the need for a closer integration – a greater commitment to solving the problems of development, both in countries of origin and residence.
The South African ambassador, Dr. LS Ted Pekane presented a paper: “Towards the Realization of a United and Integrated Africa and its Diaspora“. Present was also Counsellor, Deputy Head of Mission, Mrs. Rasheed Adam. Speakers were Members of Parliament: Chairman of the Parliamentary Group for Africa, the African Institute CEO, Hon. John A. Godson, and the Deputy Chairman of the Group, Hon. Prof Dr. Killion Munyama. They underlined the Team’s key role in activating different backgrounds in the spread of knowledge about Africa and development of Polish-African cooperation. In a lively discussion, among others, were former Polish ambassadors in Africa, Africans living in Poland, representatives of non-governmental organizations, all pointing to the high interest, a good climate, and significant potential for mutual benefit in the development of comprehensive relations with Africa.
